April 25, 2015 - Rock The Vote concert at Blackjacks Roadhouse in Nisku
Rock The Vote was held on April 25th, 2015, at Blackjacks Roadhouse in Nisku. The concept of staging a concert specially focused toward today’s youth, with a mission of getting the youth of Alberta out to vote was developed by Clarence Shields and George Rogers, local MLA for Leduc & Beaumont. The event was nonpartisan, giving all candidates the opportunity to discuss issues and answer questions that are important to young voters. Rob Smith, President of Royalty Records and Jeremy Kornel, President of the Beaumont Blues Festival, both supported the idea and Amy Metcalfe, Mourning Wood, The Orchard and Rend agreed to perform. The event was hosted by Jenn Dalen of 93.1 The One radio in Leduc. Amy Metcalfe used the evening to celebrate the release of her debut album on Royalty Records.
