The Soul Sisters Memorial Foundation held their 3rd annual Nelly's Project fundraiser in Westlock on September 24th, 2016. The event was organized to raise funds to bring awareness to suicide and mental health issues within the community. Special guest speaker was Robb Nash, who gives motivational talks to students and has had hundreds of success stories about potential suicide victims who have turned their life around after hearing him speak. Hosting the event was Danny Hooper and providing the entertainment was Carolyn Dawn Johnson, who grew up in the area before becoming a successful Nashville songwriter and performer, and Lisa Brokop who has had a similar career.
