May 13, 2017 - Alberta's Men & Women of Country Music at Hoadley
The Alberta Men & Women of Country Music Festival took place on May 13th, 2017 at the Hoadley Community Hall. The event was first started 17 years ago by Dianne Brandson as two separate events but was later combined into one event and turned oven to Shirley Hartman and the Hoadley Community Association in 2010 when Dianne suddenly passed away. Shirley, assisted by her husband Floyd, daughter Shelly and friend Rochelle, continues to spearhead the event, assisted by the entire Hoadley community. This year's the organizers paid a special tribute to last years male Lifetime Achievement winner, Hugh Kelly, who passed this past winter. Hardy Kryvenchuk-Loomis was awarded the Rising Star Award, while his grandfather, Emile Kryvenchuk was awarded the Male Lifetime Achievement award and Eli Barsi was awarded the Female Lifetime Achievement award.
