March 11 to 20, 2018 - Global Country Star Search winners trip to Nashville and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
From March 11th to 20th, 2018, the 2017 Global Country Star Search winners, Ryan Snow, Jordan Leaf and Krissy Feniak, travelled to Nashville and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. In Nashville they attended a 2 day boot camp organized by RyLee Madison and toured the city. While there they caught a showcase of Alberta's Porch Swing Entertainment artists, and saw several other Canadian artists such as Shane Chisholm, Mike Bourque, and Rod Janzen performing on Lower Broadway, Victoria Banks and Lisa Brokop at the Listening Room, and a songwriter's showcase with Madeline Merlo. They also met former Alberta artist Sharon Anderson, caught the Time Jumpers, attended the Grand Ole Opry and had the chance to perform on Lower Broadway before heading to Pigeon Forge for the North American Country Music Associations International Competition. Also taking the trip with them to Pigeon Forge were Canadian Legends Dick Damron and Joyce Smith, who along with fellow Canadian RyLee Madison were inducted into the North American Country Music International Hall of Fame. Also inducted were Scott Wikle from MKOC Radio, Publicist Jennifer Herron, Jeannie Kendall of The Kendalls, Margie Singleton, and Rex Allen Jr. They also met former Albertan Ron Jeffery who is the musical director of the Comedy Barn Theatre. In the competition the Global Country artists won a total of 8 awards, including Artist and Entertainer of the Year awards in their respective categories. A second night at the Opry saw Chris Janson inducted by Garth Brooks as the newest member of the Opry.
