Jason Benoit, with Ryan Snow as the opening act, entertained the audience at the Jessica Martel Memorial Foundation Fundraiser on November 16, 2019, at the CFB Edmonton Junior Ranks Mess. The Foundation is building Jessie's House in Morinville, an emergency shelter for persons who are fleeing domestic violence. Jessica Martel, at 26 years of age, was brutally murdered by her spouse in front of her 3 children. She had tried to seek asylum in a shelter but had been turned away because they had no available space. The new shelter will be able to house up to 35 individuals and will be available for both women and men.
