August 25, 2013 - Fred Larose Memorial Concert

Fred Larose, well known bass player, and a well respected Edmonton area musician and friend of the entire music community, passed away after an extensive battle with cancer, on June 29th. Fred, a tireless live music promoter, played with such country artists as Danny Hooper, Laura Vinson, Crystal Plamondon, Lisa Hewitt, Myrol, and many other country, blues, and other genre artists. Before he went to the big jam session in the sky, Fred requested that rather than a memorial service, all his friends be invited for a big musical party. Hundreds of musicians, friends, and people he had touched with his music, packed The Ranch Roadhouse on August 25th for more than 8 hours of musical entertainment by many of the people he had worked with during his 40 some year career. In Fred's honour, a special song, "One Of The God Guys" was written and performed by all the artists who attended the concert.
