May 23, 2014 - Aaron Goodvin & Fast Lane Reunion at LB's
Aaron Goodvin, Nashville singer/songwriter with Warner - Chappel Music, returned to his St Albert roots on May 23nd, 2014, to reunite with the original members of his first band, Fast Lane, and play in one of the home venues where he got his start, LB's Pub in St. Albert. Aaron has a song on Luke Bryan's latest Double Platinum (2 million units sold) album, as well as cuts on albums by Cole Swindell, and Scotty McCreery in the US and Tristan Horncastle and numerous other artists here in Canada. The other members of Fast Lane have gone on to be award nominated and winning musicians in the Alberta music scene. Matty McKay is a CCMA nominated Guitar Player of the Year who is now the band leader for Brett Kissel's band, Ben Bradley garnered the CCMA Drummer of the Year award when he played with Gord Bamford's band, and Dylan Gillette is a much in demand bass player, backing several different artists. In 2004 the band recorded an off the floor album, "Almost Famous". They played most of the songs off the album at their reunion, along with other material they performed in their formative years. The man responsible for bringing them back together was Cory Collingwood, who used to book them as one of the most popular bands to play the now defunct Palomino Saloon in Sherwood Park.
