October 14, 2013 - Jason McCoy at Dog Rump Creek Tavern
The show in the garage of Jazz & Tannis Mathews in Stony Plain, which is affectionately called the Dog Rump Creek Tavern, was billed as "Trust The Dog" a two night booking with a mystery guest that they promised everyone would definitely enjoy, and indeed everyone who took the chance and bought tickets, thoroughly enjoyed two intimate concerts with none other than Jason McCoy. Jason was spending a couple of weeks in Alberta working on recording and doing videos for the return of the very popular group, The Road Hammers. After a couple of years break while they pursued other career paths, Jason McCoy, Clayton Bellamy, and Chris Byrne are getting back together to continue producing their hard driving country rock sound. A new single is being released, a video has been completed, and much or the new album, scheduled for release in February 2014, has already been recorded. As a solo act, Jason kept the audience enthralled with his stories and songs from his close to a quarter century career. In keeping with the tavern policy of introducing an emerging singer/songwriter, local artist Steve Newsome was the opening act. Steve runs the popular Thursday night open stage at the Early Stage Saloon, also in Stony Plain.
