October 18, 2014 - Dierks Bentley with Tim Hicks and Randy Houser at Rexall Place
Over 10,000 people filed into Rexall Place on October 18, 2014, for a high energy show from Dierks Bentley, with opening acts Tim Hicks and Randy Houser. Edmonton was the very first Canadian city Dierks ever visited. On Oct. 27th, 2003, Dierks Bentley, riding high on his debut chart topping single, "What Was I Thinkin’ ", co-written with 2003 CCMA Rising Star nominee Deric Ruttan, played a private concert for CISN contest winners at the Kaasa Theatre in the Jubilee Auditorium. That was Dierks’ first day of a Canadian radio promotional tour. His first date in Rexall Place was July 19th, 2004, when he opened for George Strait, and he returned there to headline in a smaller concert bowl setting before 4,500 people on January 11, 2007, with Doc Walker & Eric Church. Airline stewardess attire was popular with some young ladies attending the show, in honour of Dierks latest hit, "Drunk On A Plane". In keeping with the drinking theme, Dierks even invited a fan up on stage to share a beer with him.
